Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)/ Threat Assessment Team (TAT) Training
Class Description
D. Stafford & Associates offers a Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)/Threat Assessment Team (TAT) training course. This training course is designed for those who are new to a BIT or TAT team, as well as seasoned professionals. The class will focus on understanding violence and threats including threats to self and others; threat assessment strategies; legal issues in threat assessment; team dynamics; documentation; the threat assessment process, identifying and working with at-risk students (food insecurity, housing insecurity, etc.) and the impact on those who do this work. Each day will involve application of case studies and dissecting lessons learned.
Who Should Attend
This training course is designed for members of a BIT/TAT team. This is particularly beneficial for staff in student conduct, dean of students, residential life counseling, and public safety/police.
Certification
Attendees of this class will be certified through D. Stafford & Associates. Certification verifies attendance at this class and can serve as an institution’s documentation that the attendee has received training that addresses issues related to their involvement in behavioral intervention and/or threat assessment teams.
Faculty
This training program will feature expert faculty who serve or who have served as practitioners and/or lawyers serving on college and university campuses throughout the country in the areas of behavioral intervention, threat assessment, student conduct, and student affairs.
